The capital of North Dakota, Bismarck is the seat of state government, located in the center of the state and bordered on the west by the beautiful Missouri River. The Bismarck-Mandan
area is home to 75,000 residents as well as Fort Lincoln State Park, a ski hill, water park, boat marinas, an active theatre and music community, and miles of walking/bike trails. Hunting and fishing are main sports in the state.

Bismarck Public Schools has 10,800 students and 1,680 employees. About 40% of our teachers have master’s degrees or higher. Our average daily attendance is 96.5% and our drop out rate is 1%. Average class size in grades K-6 is 20 students. Our student population is 90% Caucasian, 7% American Indian, and 3% Other. About 20% of our students qualify for free and reduced meals.
